Whenever I hang out with Gary, I feel like it’s summer of 2011 all over again. Except it’s not. It’s winter of 2014 and a lot has changed. We spent a lot of time together that year just hanging out, but now we’re both grown-ups, and—even though we live closer than ever—we just don’t see as much of one another. We both have demanding jobs (Gary plays keyboards in Red Hot Chilli Pipers), he has a fiancé (Katie, she gets the Ashley stamp of approval), and we both have scary mortgages to pay off.
Today we went for coffee and a walk around Kelvingrove Park. As always, Gary let me take his picture. He has hair now. Our friendship has, …
I woke up today itching to take a photo. Like, chicken pox kind of itchy. Hopefully I get to scratch it later today, but for now here’s a photo of Mr O’Hagan, making a return appearance on my blog. We haven’t seen one another for what felt like a long time, and he randomly turned up at my house yesterday. Oh Hai. We went for coffee and dinner. There’s another one on my Flickr.
Just a few minutes from my house Gary Barlow and the like were auditioning folk for the upcoming X Factor. Indie and I took a wee wonder over with the camera for some crowd shots. Afterwards I had a meeting in the city, followed by an amazing lunch in Tapella with Gary and his musician pal, Ian Thomson (oh, not Gary Barlow). Gary’s just returned from his German tour, but only for 2 days as he’s back on the road this Wednesday. Thanks for lunch, Gary!
