Eruption

Yesterday I had a bit of a strange day in which I erupted like a volcano. Actually, to anybody that really knows me, that isn’t strange — I do have a temper. My friend had been badgering me to help her shoot her pal’s portfolio; she didn’t have the confidence to do it alone and needed me to give her pointers with her camera. I agreed, but when I turned up my friend didn’t have her camera. I felt the wool had been pulled over my eyes, that I thought I was doing my friend a favour but now I was giving up my Sunday to shoot someone’s portfolio for free. The worst part is I didn’t get a thanks from the person who’s portfolio I was shooting.

Sometimes I feel so alienated from my generation, and this is a prime example of why. A generation that, while I’m massively generalising, seems to have been brought up without a decent work ethic or basic manners.

I had words with my friend and she assured me she hadn’t meant to take advantage, and everything is cool between us now. On a positive note, that’s the sign of a good friendship — when you can blow off steam and talk it out in the end.
