Coffee Time With Rab

Hanging out with my friend, Rab, is one of my favourite things. We both like photography and coffee, so weekend hangs will consist of cameras and caffeine.

It was the 23rd of December, so town was busy with last minute shoppers. We escaped to Laboratorio Espresso in between shooting street photography. I wasn’t happy with any of my street shots, but the coffee was tasty.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I spent Christmas in Edinburgh with my family this year. On Christmas Eve we went to The Paper Mill for dinner. The food and atmosphere was lovely, but we all agreed the service wasn’t great. This was the first Christmas my nephew has understood Santa and presents, so there was a lot of excitement on Christmas Day. I got an Amazon Echo, but these days I am enjoying giving presents more than receiving them.

2017: My Best Photos On Instagram

Instagram and I have a funny relationship. It’s one of the first apps I check in the morning, but the algorithm updates amongst other things irk me.

These are my top 9 photos of 2017, judging solely by engagement. They aren’t my favourite photos of the year. I like taking photos like this and this. But Instagram likes selfies and animals.

Follow me on Instagram for many more photos in 2018!

Indie

Indie’s operation is a distant memory. Stitches out, jumper off, cone head in the bin. She’s still getting special treatment, though, and is getting comfy on my bed.

Coffee Break at Black Pine

Now I’ll be arranging all of my client meetings at Black Pine Coffee! Last weekend I met a couple whose wedding I’m shooting next year. I ordered a coffee brewed with the Chemex and nursed it while a dog stared at me.

Foggy Mornings

Waking up to fog is a lot of fun when you’re a photographer. You just have to get outside with your camera.  The fog—coupled with the roads being closed for Santa Dash—gave this morning an eerie vibe. I couldn’t stay out for too long, though. It’s minus 2!

Yawn

I’m as tired as Indie is in this photo. I’ve been training hard, lifting heavier (hit a PB of 90KG deadlift) and pushing myself on the treadmill. I’ve also been attending a circuits class for the last month. Most days I feel like I can be in bed for 9PM. Now that I’m 30 it takes longer to see the results, but I’m determined to keep going!

Brunch At Wilson Street Pantry

Whenever friends visit Glasgow, I struggle to settle on where to take them for brunch. This is because Glasgow has so many good spots.

Scott and I found ourselves in the city centre—where options are a bit more limited—so we headed to Merchant City for brunch at Wilson Street Pantry.

The light was as lovely as the food and coffee.

Halloween With A Toddler

Oops, I’m late in posting these Halloween photos. I was lucky to spend Halloween with my nephew, Blake. He’s just over 2 years old and beginning to understand what Halloween is. Well, not in any depth—but that he gets to dress up and eat sweeties!

My sister, a dress designer, made my nephew’s costume. She asked him what he wanted to dress as and he was adamant he wanted to be a duck.

He got very sticky and hyper from all of the sugar, so we gave him a bath before bed time. It was a fun Halloween!

An Update On Indie

Indie went under anaesthetic for another operation. Fortunately the lump was fatty. It disintegrated as the vet touched it. Great news!

I was dreading the recovery period as it wasn’t fun when we went through it earlier this year. However, Indie has bounced back really well. I think it’s because they didn’t have to remove a big margin around the lump, so the recovery has been easier.

Love you, girl!
