Straight Up Selfy

This is my last straight up self-portrait for 2011. Honestly, I feel like 2011 passed in the blink of an eye, but in reality a lot happened. I moved to the city, took up strength training, went to College, proved that I am not human, and lots and lots of other things. With 2012 approaching – which I’ll be spending the beginning of in Dublin – my mind has of course turned to where I am with my photography.

I want to take more pictures in 2012. I want to take more, better pictures in 2012. I want to practice strobist photography, and I want to do a lot more traveling with my camera (and not be so lazy with self portraits). I want to pay a bit more attention to the details and be more focused. I want, I want, I want.

What do you want?

Haha, thanks for the kind words, but I’m not. I can take a hundred photos of my face and only one will turn out semi decent! Hope you’re enjoying the holidays.

In 2012 I want (in no particular order!)…to get fit again, to code even more than 2011, set myself up to go freelance, go to more socials, play more drums, road trip the states at least once.

All the best for the new year! Hope to catch you at new adventures in jan.

Good ‘wants’. Fitness has become a major priority of mind in 2011. Sounds like a good bunch of goals that I myself can relate to very much. See you at Naconf.

  3. Love this conversion, really nice contrast and tone, got a good catch light in your eye too. A nice image to finish off the year with… What do you plan on using for your strobist? If ever you fancy shooting somewhere around Yorkshire on your travels with your photography then it’d be awesome to shoot together. Even the lake district or something keep thinking I should aim to get up there more. So many nice locations there.

I think my main goal for 2012 will be to get a 50mm 1.2 again and shoot more wide open where I can.

Look forward to seeing your first posts of 2012!
