Bread Street Brasserie

Carolyn and I love food. We also love a good deal. Luckily 5pm had our back with their festival dining deal during the Edinburgh Fringe. We had a 3-course meal at Bread Street Brasserie with a glass of bubbly on arrival, 2 glasses of wine and coffee for £40.

5pm is running a lot of deals during the Edinburgh Fringe, so be sure to check them out. We left very happy and very full!

Holiday Snaps From Berlin

Visited Berlin to speak at Hybrid Conf. Took my sister. Amazing city. One of my favourites, I think. Would love to go back. Bye.

Carolyn Baxter Bridal at Carlowrie Castle

Words can’t describe how proud I am of my sister. Carolyn is a dress designer, recently moving into the bridal industry and designing a range of 5 wedding dresses… all while raising a baby. My sister handmade these dresses from her shop in Broughton Street, Edinburgh.

Shooting in Carlowrie Castle last week was the first chance I had to see the dresses. Now, I’m not the most feminine of women—give me a pair of Nike leggings any day, but even I wanted to play dress up. Carolyn has done a beautiful job.

I’m so proud of my sister and envious of her talent. You can see the all of the dresses on Carolyn’s website.

Baby Blake

Once a week I will drive through to Edinburgh to spend the day with my nephew, Blake. Yesterday we visited Craigmillar Castle, Blake’s first history trip! Doesn’t he look happy?

Carolyn, The Dress Designer

My sister stopped by my apartment today, in between dropping one of her dresses off at a shoot with Rebecca Fox, and a massage I booked for her 30th birthday. We went for ice cream. Well, Carolyn did. I had just ran 8K so was behaving myself… for about 5 minutes.
