Lyle Hill Panoramic

Yesterday I photographed the Clyde swim in Greenock. I will share the photos later in the week, but while in Greenock on such a beautiful day, I drove to the top of Lyle Hill and took a few photos with the intention of stitching them together in Photoshop. It’s a rarity I will say this, but Greenock looked pretty. Oh, and you might have noticed it wasn’t my first time up Lyle Hill.

Clyde Skating

Skating by the Clyde seems pretty dumb to me. What if you don’t land that trick and your board goes bye-bye? That’s precisely what happened here, straight into the Clyde. Even I found it painful to watch and it wasn’t my board. RIP, Mikey’s skateboard.

Davo text and said he was skating nearby my flat. I brought my 28mm and dog, the latter of which was an awful idea (she was afraid of the skateboards), and set about taking some action shots. Have I mentioned I am terrible at photographing skateboarding? I am terrible at photographing skateboarding. It’s definitely a lot of fun, though, and something I want to do more of.

Meet Me At St Louis

Every Sunday, for the rest of our lives. I’ll have waffles with bacon and maple syrup, please. And a latte ‘cos I’m a fatty.

When Lindsay asked where I wanted to go for brunch, I asked her to take me somewhere new. It’s easy to get into a habit of visiting regular spots, and while I will always wax lyrical about Tribeca’s french toast, it’s Glasgow we’re talking about and there are a thousand other places to discover. Enter St Louis cafe, which is on Dumbarton Road nearer to the Partick end of the city.

After OD’ing on sugar, we drove to Holmwood for a play in the sun and yet more coffee. Perfect Sunday!

Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh

With a sister living in Edinburgh, I’ve come to hear of Arthur’s Seat a fair bit. My sister claims to have ran around it a few times (I don’t believe her), and it’s one of Edinburgh’s top tourist attractions. Despite that, it has taken me until today to finally pay it a visit, and I chose the foggiest, wettest kind of day for it. I even wore a poncho. A poncho.

The top of Arthur’s Seat was covered in a thick, dreamy mist. It meant that the view over Edinburgh became less visible the higher we got, but I took some of the moodiest landscapes I’ve ever shot. I would like to return during the Summer for a different vibe. Oh wait, it is Summer.

Loch Lomond

I don’t particularly feel inspired when shooting landscapes, unless the light is doing something interesting, which it totally wasn’t this day. Still, I’ve been knee deep in wedding photos so have come up for some air. It’s nuts that this place is pretty much on my door step.

Sausage Party

I love a sausage party, and I was very grateful to be invited to my friend’s sausage party that they hold every year on May 28th. It took place at Glasgow Green. I don’t spend much time there, but I’ve decided that I prefer it over Kelvingrove Park.

Oh, and this weather! If I, a fair skinned auburn haired woman thing, can get a bit of colour then you know it’s been a good week weather wise. A memorable week, but I’m ready to wind down from all the food, ice cream and ciders that the sun has entailed.

Wednesday Mojitos

How did this happen? It’s Wednesday. I shouldn’t be drinking. Or eating crisps. My friend is a bad influence. I’m going to the cinema in 30 minutes. How am I ever going to concentrate on American Pie?

Floppy Hats and Horse Feeding

Summer came over the weekend. In true Scottish style it has now gone, but I still got to play in it with Kaitlin. I’ve known this girl since the day she was born and she’s now a grown up 17 year old. This makes me feel old.

We headed to my old neck of the woods, Inverkip, and shot around the pontoons and on the beach. The sun was too harsh, meaning I’ve discarded a lot of the photos. Everyone kept saying “It’s a great day to take photos”, but I prefer when it’s a bit shady.

I photographed Kaitlin over a year ago for my sister’s make-up palette. Time flies!

Lindsay Connolly

Tomorrow I am photographing Lindsay’s sister, Kaitlin. I photographed Kaitlin – who is an aspiring model – a year ago for my sister’s make-up palette, Little Black Book. My mind hasn’t been on photography at all this week, so it will be nice to step away from my computer and hopefully get the creative juices flowing.
