I set my alarm for the unthinkable hour of 5AM, but we had to chase the good light. Armed with coffee in flasks and half a dozen cameras, we road tripped to the Scottish Highlands while everyone else was still in bed. It was worth the 5AM rise.

A great set of images and a great location. I’ve yet to get on a proper photo trip with Dan – he’s an inspiration and mentor as well as a great photographer.
The life of a landscape photographer, especially in the summer, hey? Still, it’s so worth it to capture that subtle and if you’re lucky, dramatic light.
Thanks for sharing these images.
How fortunate you are to have such landscape nearby! Gorgeous photos. Takes me back to when I was up in the highlands last summer. #8 is my favourite of the bunch – the peace and quiet one must get when in a house with no neighbours like that. Wonderful.
Stunning photos as always, Ashley.
