Temporarily Lost

…and I have no idea what I’m doing. I know a lot of ‘creatives’ get into this lull from time to time, but my lull has been worryingly prolonged. I am putting it down to my time being taken up with other things, and – as a result – I’ve found myself picking up my camera less and less. I do have a shoot planned with a girl early May, and it will be good to push myself while doing the style of photgraphy I know will excite me.

I think it’s fine to feel like this and in some ways it’s good to feel like this. It reminds you that creativity is a gift, not something to be taken for granted.

When you feel this way apart of you feels like you’ll never emerge, like you’re somehow doomed to feel uninspired for the rest of your days, like very notion of ‘creating’ is one that has gone forever.

I try to fill these days with inspiration. Read a book, watch a movie or short film, look at what others are doing, go to an art gallery, spend hours browsing Flickr, FFFFound or Dribbble.

It’s not a easy ride. But you’ll get there.
